During the lotus blooming, lotus flowers are everywhere in Hanoi, and this has naturally been an inspiration for me since I lived in Vietnam. I find this flower incredibly beautiful, and the way white or pale pink goes turning into nearly electric pink really amazes me. I wanted to recreate a lotus pond in a clearly abstract way, where the energy of the strokes reflected the boost of vitality I got from contemplating the scene.
